not really, but it's fairly close. it's closer when you compare 17" LCDs versus 19" CRTs, and exactly when you compare 19" LCDs and 20" CRTs.

how do they measure CRT size, anyway? is it the size of the projection?

CRT measured diagonaly, but includes the plastic on each end which is lame IMO.
