Isle of Man TT is going on now

Just a heads up to anyone that cares that the Isle of Man TT motorcycle race is going on and can be seen on Velocity at 9PM (MST). There has been several days of racing already but the main race, the Senior TT, is Jun 10th.

Michael Dunlop set a new lap record a couple days ago averaging over 133mph over the 37+ mile mountain course and is the first person to lap in under 17 minutes.

Sadly, there has been two deaths so far -- a bit more than average...

Dunlop. Though I bet you knew that and typo'd because your brain was getting ready to type lap record.

Seems like the whole Dunlop clan races. Must be hell on the Dunlop mothers worrying about their kids. They've had to bury a few now.

Fixed that for ya...

I can't imagine it's easy on the loved ones of anyone that races the TT as the risks to fall are high and the consequence of it is, well, tragic.

Still, watching the video of them is among the most incredible things I've ever seen. One does wonder though how much longer this race will continue.

Who is going to shut it down? The entire island lives and breathes the thing. The people competing in it know the risks. Nobody is forcing anybody to do it.
