ISIS/ISIL terrror attack in Bangladesh with hostages

If I were Bangladesh, I'd be very interested in every single person and distant relation who indicated the least bit of sympathy with terrorism in the Middle East. There are less than innocent people participating as a support / recruitment / incitement network.

Don't just hit the terrorists today, hit their associates. Hit their sympathizers.

What a horrible thing. Reports are that they killed those who didn't recite passages from the quran. And apparently they weren't given a merciful death.

Yes, up to 5 gunmen selectively tortured and killed the non-Muslim foreigners.
Like ISIS burning people alive, or throwing them off buildings. Genocide is their MO.

One of the victims was a student at my local Atlanta Emory University (hospital). 🙁

Jihadist extremists hacked 20 people to death in a cafe in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka - sparing only those who could recite from the Koran - before they were gunned down by commandos.
Witnesses said seven Islamist radicals stormed the Holey Artisan bakery and cafe last night armed with assault weapons, pistols and 'sharp objects' before taking more than 30 people hostage.
They killed nine Italians, seven Japanese, an Indian, an American and two local men before elite commandos ended the 12-hour standoff by storming the cafe.
Six of the hostage-takers were killed and one was arrested.

Also why are any of these considered "hostage situations". There shouldn't be any talking. Go in and kill ASAP. In a NORMAL hostage situation there is something else in which the shooters want that serves a motive of some sort to their situation.

But that isn't the case with these religious extremists. In their mind they are going to win 72 virgins regardless. No amount of negotiating will ever stop anything - Other than giving them more time to execute them all - so why ever build a hostage situation?

4th of July weekend, a Daesh incident would be about inevitable somewhere. Probably will be more.

I guess the idiots managed to get one Murican, the long and short of it is I still would nuke anyone DAESH involved and not feel bad.

Latest news, most of the attackers were from influent well to do, even elite families -

The men, all in their late teens or early 20s, were products of Bangladesh’s elite, several having attended one of the country’s top English-medium private schools as well as universities both in the country and abroad.

Among them was the son of a former city leader in the prime minister’s own Awami League, the governing party.

The parents were clueless and in denial -

“How can I believe my kin who has humanitarian qualities can be part of these brutal killings?” he asked.

“I can tell you my boy was really a good humanitarian soul,” he said. “Such a soul cannot do something cruel like this.”

Trolling is not allowed in P&N.

Also, love your avatar.

That's called sarcasm. Trolling is when you say something for no other reason than to get a particular response. If he wanted us to think he genuinely thought it was Obama's fault in an attempt to start an argument, THEN it would be trolling.

If you deliberately misidentified what he was doing as trolling to elicit my response, then YOU were trolling. See how this works?

And 200 dead in Iraq. I guess ISIS isn't on the run.

On the run, as in holding less territory in Iraq/Syria/else where.
Their actual state territory is diminishing via losses on the battlefield. In the war.

Their capacity to cause terror attacks across the globe merely requires finding sympathizers crazy enough to carry it out.
Dealing with global terrorism is a separate matter from destroying the actual Islamic State.

Yeah, it's not like they've lost around a quarter of their territory over the past year or anything like that.

"At the end of 2014, the Islamic State controlled one-third of Iraq and one-third of Syria — a land mass roughly equal to the area of Great Britain — where the extremist group ruled over upward of 9 million people.

Less than two years later, the self-proclaimed caliphate has lost 22 percent of that territory, according to a report published this week by IHS Jane’s 360, a defense analysis think tank.

The Islamic State surrendered more than half of that territory — 14 percent — last year and 2016 has already proven crippling. According to IHS Jane’s, after Kurds and a small number of moderate Arab rebels ousted the Islamic State from the northern Syria border town of Tal Abyad, the extremists have struggled to balance their budget. Tal Abyad had long served as a gateway for supplies and recruits from Turkey to the Islamic State’s de facto capital in Raqqa."

Is that the hoverboots that aren't on the ground or the Russian airstrikes? Are we still providing antiaircraft missiles to the "moderate rebels" when the only air power is attacking ISIS? Have we sent ISIS any more plumbing trucks recently? Erdogan still getting that cheap blood crude?
