ISIS has the same threat level for USA as the KKK does for Africa.

I'm sure there will a lone wolf or potentially a small pack of wolves that will try to perpetrate a terrorist act in the US in the coming months. The question is will they be the normal screw ups or will they be able to pull off significant attack. My bet is they will be the normal screw ups and fail badly.

They have airplanes, too.

http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/17/world/meast/isis-threat/

You don't get out much,do you?

Don't comprehend well, do you?

From your link:

...suggested by an unverified report from the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that ISIS has three warplanes in its possession in northern Syria.

OMG! Three whole airplanes, most likely Russian fighters or transports, and certainly few of Syrias transports were/are capable of unaided intercontinental travel. And if fighters, they're restricted to the immediate area, no threat to the U.S. unless ISIS gets an aircraft carrier. Oh, and did you also forget that no one can fly them yet, if ever? Or that the planes may be inoperable?

Naaaaa.......ISIS gots planes! Head for the hills!!!!

Well just as soon as ISIS gets a tanker plane we should start to worry about their 3 war planes.

Al-qaeda had a base of operations in Afghanistan. They planned an attack that took down the WTC buildings causing a trillion+ hit on the U.S. economy. Haven't seen any such operations by the KKK.

The KKK is completely harmless on a national level...and even on a local level.

I would NOT however want to tango with a KKK member one on one....they are just as capable and dangerous as outlaw bikers. (nudge nudge, they are often one of the same)

Drugs, guns, and a I don't give a shit mentality. Not something I want to get involved in.

Want to know what's reaaaaaaaaaly scary though about the KKK? Remember when they had millions of members? The apple never fell far from the tree. Racism never died...organized racism died. There are still millions of people out there who secretly place themselves well within the ideology lines of the KKK.

I don't think the OP posted this thread to be a statement on the efficacy of the KKK. more like the presumed boogeymaness of the ISIS threat. I feel left to their own devices... ISIS would like to strike the U.S. again in the manner of 9/11/01. Left alone they would have an extensive training network and plenty of money to stir up trouble.

Yes, the KKK is still around. Racists are still around... but to say ISIS is as minor of a threat as the KKK is to Africa reeks of an Alex Jones follower.

The same old tired fear-mongering.... anything to justify wasting billions of dollars to drop bombs and keep the war machine capitalists in the green. The scary part is that you actually believe this bullshit rhetoric. You have learned zilch from the last 12 years of engagement in the Middle East. The more America engages, the worse we make it..... for ourselves and for them. I wish to god we outfit the entire neocon minority and ship them over to engage ISIS.... I am sick of them sending good young Americans to die and get maimed in a senseless meat grinder.

People call Alex Jones one of those rich kids who never had to work due to inherited wealth.

So when you have no real job and do not need one then you can sit around and research all the smoke and mirrors and like the old saying where there is smoke there is fire can ring true time to time but in this case I would have to tell you than no. I am not a follower but Alex Jones and I do not buy his products but I do have a stack of food to last for a very long time if USA goes under.

I don't want U.S. troops on the ground for many reasons. For one there would need to be a lot of troops and likely it would be years before any mission would be complete. This would also be a propoganda boon for the islamic radicals. The Iraqi and Syrian armies are the ones who should be the ones acting as cannon fodder. Normally I would say 'hands off' to the whole region... but this is something that needs to be fixed. The U.S. got rid of Saddam, which was done in a way that could have been superior to what was done in Libya. Except for screwing the situation up by firing the iraqi army and creating a decade of chaos in that country. The middle east would have been better off. The U.S. destabilized Eygpt, Libya, and I am sure still working to get Assad. Decades ago before you and I were born plans were put in place by western powers that ultimately led to this mess.

It sucks we have to spend tax money and put troops in harms way... but if we chip away and supply lines, heavy equipment, money making locations (oil wells) we can put ISIS in a position where they can be handled by the Iraqi and Syrian governments.

The muslims want Israel gone. The U.S. supports Israel along with having a presence in many middle eastern countries. Yes, I believe that ISIS radicals won't stop with simply setting up a small caliphate where they can be left in peace.

In other words, zero threat whatsoever. Got it.

You are acting like we matter. OK, look. Listen carefully because truth is about to strike you at light speed.

There are a few people who own this country. They go to war to protect their own interests. I said their own interests, not America's interests. America has no interests because there is no America. There are the people who own this land and control it, and then there are the warm bodies that happen to live here, like algae in a pond (American citizens).
These powerful few would sacrifice the fate of any number of nations in order to protect their interests. They've been doing it for decades.

Is there a downside to ISIS killing people in Muslim Countries? Let them keep killing Muslims till the Muslims start fighting back. Let them all kill each other. We can sell arms to both sides.

You got it ALL wrong. Pick a side, fight with it until it is the strongest force then jump to another side and fight with it..... we can keep doing this forever. If we don't pick a side and fight, what use are we as the biggest bully on the block?
