Specific arn't I? 😉
Seriously though. I've got this problem at work. We recently installed some new networking stuff, and part of this was a ISDN router (which dials automatically), a new server (with MS Exchange on it). The problem is that we've just got out phone bill in and it is MASSIVE. It apears that the ISDN router has been connecting and cutting off all though the day (even though internet usage is very low - only a 5 person company so I do know for sure that it's not just people messing about).
After a lot of investegation, it appears that the router dials out whenever anyone loads up MS Outlook 2000 (not when it checks the mail tho! just as soon as you double click on the icon -- even before it asks you who you want to login as!). Does anyone know why it might be doing this? I've had a look on both the server and on the client machines and I can't spot any TCP/IP activity that could be contributing to it (used netstat -- there was only communication between the two internal 10.0.0.x addresses).
The Router is a Netgear one (running NAT) if that helps any. Ohh and the other weird thing is that the timeout setting we've got setup on the router is 300 seconds, but some of the phone calls lasted less than that! Very odd!
Thanks.
