ISA Server 2000...Confused about Active Sessions

A coworker and I recently installed an ISA server in a small remote office with about 10 employees. We've set up firewall client software for the 10 comps and set up a demand dial interface to coporate HQ so we can transfer spreadsheets and whatnot. It seems to be working great, although slow of course being dial up, but were confused on how ISA server shows active sessions under the monitoring tab. Its shows two active sessions per client connection, a Web Session and Firewall Session. The Firewall session give client computer name, username and IP...But the Web Session it shows listed for each active session give "anonymous" username, blank computer name, and only lists IP. Is there any way to configure ISA to show who is connected for web sessions?

Hi,

I also manage ISA server and I agree with you, sometimes I only see anonymous and not the user name. Either way, you can try these:

1. Click on Advanced view
2. Try not authorizing "any request" but rather restrict it to a group with users in it.
3. You need to hit refresh many many times to update the active sessions.

Hope this help. I can see username, so I know it definetely works.
