I'm currently running Windows 98 and 98 SE on my 2 computers that I have networked. The 98SE machine uses ICS to share the internet, and it has a PCI NIC attached to my cable modem, and an ISA NIC goes out to a hub. The other computer has an ISA NIC in it. Both of the ISA NIC's are 3Com 10 Mb/s, kinda old. I've got dozens of them and they work fine so I have no problem using them, but I know some people detest them.
So anyways a friend of mine tells me that Win2K hates ISA devices, especially ISA network cards. Is this true? So far the only thing that has stopped me from buying Win2K pro is my Aureal sound card and my laziness. But to hear my friend tell it, the ISA NIC will slow me down in many ways and it would be in my best interest to go out and buy a PCI NIC. No big deal, the things are cheap, just seemed odd to me.
