ISA card reader not seeing Lucent wireless card

Working this remotely. Card reader in P133/intel chipset is recognized by w98. When the wireless nw card is inserted, it is not seen. Have taken over to "newer" K2 computer, works ok. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. He's spent about 8 hrs on tech line with lucent vendor without success. TIA, Paul
