IS7, couple q's... temps reporting high? Also, SATA/Raptor q.

yo guys, couple questions about is7.


#1) I'm using a raptor with the onboard sata w/ the IS7. Does this run as fast as other sata controllers, or is this running on the slower PCI bus?


#2) Has anyone ever experienced the IS7 reporting high temps? Somehow, my board is reading that I have case temps near 40c under load. Though, when I put my hand to the back of the case, the temps only feel mildly warm. Any ideas? I'm using the latest bios btw.

1) The IS7 uses the ICH5R southbridge, so the SATA controller doesn't rely on the PCI bus. This doesn't really matter though unless you're running RAID 0, in which case the ICH5R has an advantage.

2) The temps are higher compared to other boards. Some say 8-10C. Which case and fans are you using?
