I noticed the parking garage was emptier than usual yesterday and things are definitely slowing today

Hospitals, especially the Emergency department, never close. Heck, the ED tends to be even busier than usual during the holidays.

Not yet but tomorrow many people will be out. The subway has been less crowded this week and parking in my neighborhood has been easier, which is nice.

The wife is back in yesterday. Bells Palsy for the 2nd time since September, other side of her face. Would be real nice if they could find the autoimmune problem.

Slowing down? Heck no. Tis the season to bring happiness and joy. :D

The cork pops at noon today here. Everyone is already walking around exchanging gifts and BSing. Then we'll return to work on Tuesday.

I had planned to take all next week off, but my boss just asked me if I could come in Tuesday through Friday next week.. Looks like I'm just getting the next two Mondays off.

I'm at work today but I have no idea why. I'll probably leave soon and not come back until January.

I'm working from home today, going on vacation tomorrow. Our annual holiday lunch was yesterday so we still had a decent number of people in the office. I think most everyone is starting vacations today/tomorrow.

Not us. We are trying to close out several projects by the end of this year or early next year at the latest.

Anyone who takes a work day off besides Monday is a criminal.

Fact.
I'm ok with being a criminal. Laws are arbitrary assignments, handed down by dumbasses, not gods. I take laws as suggestion, and will give them due consideration.

I took off Tues-Wed. Have to work Thurs and Thurs night, so I'll take Friday off too. Haven't decided on the next week yet, but I may take a couple days off. If it snows. I'll be taking off for that also. Snow days apply all winter.

I work in a NOC in telecommunications, it never shuts down. In fact this is usually our busy season because of the snow storms and there is usually some OT involved as we need more people in to handle everything, but this year we don't have any of that so it's been quiet. I'm working Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years Day this year. Kinds sucks to miss Christmas but I can still show up for dinner at least then leave for my shift. It's good money so I'll take it. Riding the gravy train CHOO CHOO!!

Tomorrow a few coworkers are taking off until Jan 2nd. I'm going to be working though other than Xmas and New Years Day since they are holidays. I may use PTO and take off Jan 2nd though. I got no PTO left really since I took so many vacations this year.

I only get off the 25th, the 29th, and the 1st this year. I work in the insurance biz now, and this is our busy season.

Winding down quick. At my work, (except for on-call staff) is shutting down all next week and New Year's day. We have to take 3 days PTO or unpaid, but rest is company-paid.

I've still got some vendor engagement letters to track down, I need to invoice about 30 companies for premium and ensure the wires settle in time, I have 40 companies to prepare for quarter and then year end close, I need to roll investment and other work papers to 2018, I have 30 funding studies to receive and review, 45 audits to prep for, three companies to convert to investment management vehicles and commute their risk to a new company and at least two (that I know of so far) companies to build. All before 12/28. Holiday slow season?

Is this why accountants have everyone on the planet bending over backwards to make their lives easier? Maybe you're doing it wrong.
