You know it's made from corn right? Where do you think corn is grown? Not only does it take a lot of land, but the energy you get from the ethanol is LESS than what must be used to grow the corn, including fertilizers, machinery, etc.

Edit: Actually that's according to the Cornell researcher David Pimental. According to the USDA, ethanol yields 34% more energy than is put in. Still not worth the land used.

Nonsense.

Not ony can ethanol be made from much more than just corn, ethanol's ROI is anywhere from .9:1 to 2.2:1.

Just depends on the processes used.

I'd need to drive about 400 miles to some station in Maryland to fill my car with E-85, which means that I'd need to fill my car with a full tank of good ol' dino juice to get the station. I'd probably need to fill it again to get back home, assuming that the stuff doesn't destroy my engine on the way home. 🙂

The nearest station for me is kinda far away.
I'll have to drive for 20-30 min to get there. O well it doesn't matter, because my car isn't E85 friendly/compatible.
