Apparently a lot of people's garages are used for storage rather than cars. I miss having a garage for the days when it snows and rains. We have a full size attic and basement so plenty of storage and we actually throw stuff out.

I have two cars and they're both in my two car garage. I think its the height of stupidity to use a garage for a mini-storage for a few hundred dollars worth of junk while tens of thousands of dollars worth of car/truck sit in the driveway or street exposed to the elements and worse. Not to mention it makes the neighborhood look all ghettofied with two/three/four cars per house sitting in the street.

I have a 2 car garage, but we only park one car in it regularly. The rest of the space is taken up by my riding lawn mower, my snowblower, a workbench, kids toys and bicycles, and a bunch of other stuff that belongs in a garage.

no garage (although my basement is filled with junk... old furniture that my great aunt refuses to get rid of and it's currently the repository of all my boyfriend's stuff as he starts the move-in process)

my parents never used their garage for cars, though. they did when we first moved into that house, but it's at the far back of the house and requires navigating through a narrow passage between my parents house and the neighbor's retaining wall... after the 3rd or 4th time that my mom knocked off the dryer vent, they do one car at the front of the driveway and another on the street in front of the house. it was also a huge pain to have to get out and open the gate (and a royal pain if the dog happened to be in the backyard at the time)

We have a 2 car garage but can only fit 1 car and 1 motorcycle in it currently so I'd say it is 1/4 full of junk.

Nope. 3 car garage. Wife's truck (actually fit too with room to spare, 2500 4 door long bed Sierra), my company suv, and a vacant spot reserved for a Corvette :). Also have a utility garage for the riding mower and yard tools so that helps. Big reason I chose this house.

No, I converted my garage into a home theater room man cave. It's my basement that's full of junk, mostly stuff that used to be in the garage.

2 car garage with lots of stuff in it but there are two cars parked in it too. Told my wife when we bought the place, I was going to park in the garage. She can park wherever she wants but I'm in the garage. My garage is for parking cars first and storing stuff second.

have a two car, I oughta fix the door opener.

It's pretty wise open still, had a third Jeep just parked in it awhile but sold it.

Usually just use it for projects atm, I oughta go one way or the other sometime soon I guess its mostly empty space.

Not quite large enough for 3 cars garage has a wall down the middle with a door, kitchen cabinets, a stove, couch, heating system, and other miscellaneous stuff in it. :sneaky: The tractor and one riding lawnmower are parked in the barn. The other riding lawnmower is parked in one of the sheds. The boat is in the main driveway (of the three driveways); it wouldn't fit anywhere other than the barn anyway. And the camper is in the main driveway, along with both cars. Junk is in the basement; it's heading to the dump as soon as I'm in the mood to haul it out & around the house to the driveway. (Why the hell does everyone save the last 1/4 gallon of paint, just in case they have to touch up the paint job? We must have 40 partial gallons of paint.)

50% crap. 2 car garage but only the wife parks in it. "My" spot is used for bikes, lawn mower and other tools, camping gear, boxes we move from house to house, which I'm guessing at this point is a mix of spiders and whatever it is we bought that we don't use, some more stuff, and a rack hanging from the ceiling so we can store more boxes.

No. I have useful items. You have crap and corruption.

This. Band saw. Drill press. Etc.

Why the fuck would anyone put a car in a garage? Seems retarded. Hell. I don't think I could even get a car back there. Garage is at the back of the lot and the "driveway" is awfully narrow as it goes past the house.

In my town I see Rolls and Porsches and whatever the fuck else cars people own parked on the street. No one parks in the garage.

It's a storage unit, but the stuff is good stuff, even if I'm not using it currently. I would like to get one half of it cleared for my car before winter.

You may as well call it a shed if it's down a narrow pathway. How you're supposed to back out every single day I'll never figure out.

It's ironic that my house was built in '54 yet our Acadia barely fits. I guess cars hadn't quite ballooned yet. Anyway, currently one car in the garage but there will be two cars in it by the end of summer. I need to reframe the storage area above and hang the bikes.

Too bad we have 3 cars :p

I can't believe this went 22 replies without someone saying:

"no, but my trunk is"

so I'll just go ahead and do it.
