Rackshack has decided to take pity on the customers CEO-Shawn has fleeced and has put the former CW servers online until 8AM tommorow morning. If you have a site hosted and its currently working back it up now if you havent already.

This has been a friendly public service announcment.

yeah, rackshack is top notch if you can afford them. I've got a shared server that me and about 30 aquantances of mine use to host a private forum and FTP site. Unparalleled uptime and service.

In an effort to help those displaced by Cyberwings, Rackshack has TEMPORARILY turned back on the former servers that served Cyberwings in an effort to allow those that had data on these servers that was not backed up to retrieve their data so that they do have a copy.

Originally, we set a deadline of 6pm when the servers would be shut back down. We have extended this deadline to 8AM Thursday morning when the servers will be powered down, restored, and made available for sale.

To all of the dozens of folks who emailed Rackshack and myself personally on this matter, I regret that we were not able to do this sooner.

If you have data on one of the affected servers, make a copy of your data now. By 8AM tomorrow morning, it will be too late.

N8Magic - I PM'd the mods with a CyberWings sticky thread idea, they said they'd think about it and I haven't heard from them since then.

I have hosting accounts with CyberWings but no domains to host, not yet at least.

I'm missing somthing here, why all the data loss? Don't you make the website offline then upload it? Meaning theres a copy of your site still on your harddrive unless you deleted it. But I'm no webmaster so I know i'm missing somthing.

I think it's mostly db stuff that people haven't backed up. Also various PHP scripts that actually write other files to the server.

not according to shawn. He is hiding in his maximum security datacenter with armed secret service protecting the door.

I guess it proves that govt. DC's aren't very picky about letting people setup shop.
