Ah yes SSP I have since found out coz I saw that message :)
But its usually superceded by contacting server message which flushes my work automatically anyway...

mike, thanks. I did an RC5 short benchmark and got 2,349,621.81 keys/sec. The long benchmarks weren't too far off...guessed Celerons aren't that good for RC5 cracking.

I thought my c850 was a little slow in RC5, too, but it turned out the OPENGL screensaver was cutting down its productivity! Use blankscreen as a screensaver to boost her back to 2.3Mk/sec. :)

Yes, many screensavers cut down the keyrate.. a blank screen is always best. The Athlon's seem to do a little better at RC5, but just think... your celeron is contributing more than the couple p200's that I have that are capable of only 126,000 keys per second!! The best way to boost your keyrate is to assimilate! Hey.. that rhymes. Have your friends join!!!

ROFLMAO. That was my favorite title also. Hope it continues to help. I don't even know what is going on. Looks like there may be enough info posted now for me to catch up. Hope one of the links explains the basic concept. If it looks good, count me in.

^ for the masses

If we can get all 20K+ members contributing, plus their relatives and friends, and their friends, we'll have a MegaFlush every hour. :D

How many blocks in a day could a system like mine below churn out? I'm still waiting on the geForce, KT7, and RAM but when I get it all I'd like to try oc/ing to 850-900.

Don't worry about that... They are in the middle of a MegaFlush and that explains the enourmous amounts of blocks. This kinda of production is not continue and I think the MegaFlush ended yesterday or today.

Hmmn...what exactly is a MegaFlush? Is it an organized flushing or blocks by all members or something?

btw I still haven't received my password via email and I still can't find myself on the stats page after cracking for almost 24 hours... :(

The DPC's orgainized another mega flush (this is number 6). They save a whole bunch of blocks and dump them at once... It sounds kinda cool but isn't ideal because many of those blocks will be duplicates of ones that have already been checked. They are dumping a huge amount each day and that is why the stats are a little slow. Also, this is why DNET has said no more mega flushes'... Be patient and keep on cracking because once you get your password and username, all the blocks that you have cracked with make it to the right team once you join. Hope this helps... and thanks again.

Dnet hasn't updated any of the stats yet. I am still waiting to see how I did yesterday....

OK, I asked because its currently the middle of the night here(I'm in Singapore and we're 12 hours faster than EST right now) and I was hoping to register for Team Anandtech before I went to bed...guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow.

I have my computer at home cracking 24x7 (except when we blow a circuit by turning on a light and then my UPS runs out of battery power :)). Then my friend's computer nearly 24x7. Then her parents' computer at random times. Then my computer at work now running 24x7 (they gave me admin rights to it and it's not costing them anything since they're on all the time anyway).

So that's:

K6-3/400 24x7
Celeron 533 22x7 (average)
K6-2/400 6 hours per day average
PIII-550 24x7

And hopefully soon I'll have a Linux box running a K6-2/450 for almost no reason other than to crack RC5 (well, that whole LEARN LINUX thing too).

Maybe I can convince my roommates to join as well. Two of them already here, another one coming soon probably. That'd be an Athlon750, a K6-2/400, and a PII something-or-other.

My keyrate pretty much doubled when I got the PIII going on it at work. I love my K6-2's and III's, but in RC5 they're slow as hell. Even a stupid little Celeron is kicking their butts.

Lord Evermore,

I have a PIII 500 doing OGR right now. I would be willing to trade the output of my computer running 24/7 for your 2 AMD's. I get about 1.4 mkeys/sec. You two AMD's should be able to outcrack my PIII in OGR and my PIII should outcrack yours in RC5. if you want to trade and crack for each other's e-mail addresses send me a PM.

If not, anyone else want to make a swap that is ageeable to both parties?
