Is XP64 a viable OS?

i switched over when it was released.. haven't looked back.. Don't bother if you have a video capture card though..

and SEARCH!!!

I tried x64 and went back to Win 32 for my video editing. If you want to try x64 and it works for you, then happy sailing.

Another happy camper since July of last year. My Hauppagge PVR 500 was the last thing I needed a working driver for and the only reason I needed XP Pro for but, that driver became available in Nov. of last year and I haven't booted to XP Pro since.......

Today, it is probably not a good investment. There is very little software that takes advantage of it, and Vista is just around the corner with a 64 bit version. I believe that is what the software writers are waiting for.

I wouldn't bother with it. The benefits aren't worth $150 imo (unless you really need to break the 4GB ram barrier). Wait for Vista.
