got a dell computer system with a ATI X600 SE PCI-E video card. This card apparently has 32mb of video onboard and then uses up to 256mb of the system memory.

could someone give me an idea of how fast this is compared to other PCI-E cards?

Thanks!

X600 SE = POS

Only good for old games.

X600 = 9600 with PCI-Express. So a X600SE should be equal to a 9600SE, which is in turn approx. equal to a 9200.

I thought only some X300's utilized hypermemory.

Looking at my thread.. X600SE is not even an official GPU. ATI only officially has an X600 X600Pro X600XT. No SE. Probably just a manf modified X600 Vanilla for lower clock speeds.

Are you sure it's an x600se and not an x300se? I can't find details on an x600se anywhere...

They're standard equipment on Dells.

Well with the new drivers, I think that all ATI cards now have hypermemory...

well, thanks to everyone for the sarcasm!

I was just curious... I rarely play any games on the computer... my other pc has onboard Gf4MX (Nforce2 chipset)...so as you can see I don't really need much.

If I decide to upgrade later..can I get a suggestion for a decent PCI-E card in the $80-$120 price range?

You may be able to net an x700, x700 Pro or 6600.
