Just bought the game, opened all firewalls and it won't connect. Is anyone else having this problem? :(

They're having technical difficulties. Still. After a year and a couple months, they still can't keep their servers running properly. They've been trying to fix several servers that are completely hosed, but it looks like the whole system collapsed just a few minutes ago. As an aside, I just canceled my account 2 weeks ago.

How do you know for certain if you can't even try?

Because I have been reading the forums for the past couple weeks. Right after I canceled a new patch came out and I've been keeping up on the latest game issues. Seeing if there's any reason to play again in the future. Haha, the answer to that question is no. But I digress, I was just reading the forums there and tons of people are having problems connecting, and then the forums and a good deal of the WoW site went down. I'd imagine that right now--or at least the problem you're experiencing is that--the login servers are down. All this stuff happened alot even when I was still playing.

No problems on this end, infrequent stutter but nothing too annoying. Here is the up/down status page.

That status page isn't accurate IMO. My wife plays WoW and has had occasional problems - but the status page will say that server is up. this forum for status seems a bit better. I've seen posts on there by employees posting that such and such server is having issues, but the main status page still says server is up.

i cancelled my WoW account a few months ago, but it sounds like server stability still sucks. on a side note im using the extra money to save for the elder scrolls IV. when that game is finally released, im going to be giddy like a school girl :)

WoW servers reliability is very very poor. The loot table is flawed. The honor system sucks. But like crack, you always go back for more. They've never solved the IF lag problem.

Yea, now there are auction houses in all the main cities, but then well, you can only turn in faction/honor tokens in IF, so there is still lag.

I think that should have fixed things overall though, but christmas found a huge flood in new players. I cancelled mine like 3 days ago. Account ends the 21st.
