Is Woot screwing me over?

Nearly a month ago I sent my bad Nvidia 7900GS back to Woot.com. They gave me the RMA # and everything. I sent it off USPS and i have YET to recieve payment back on my card. I emailed them, but I get all from them is asking for is the tracking number of the package. I do not have a tracking number for the package. I do still have the reciept for when I sent it off from the post office. I am tempted to take to the post office to see if they can track for me. But it just makes no sense that they just won't tell me whether they got it or not. I've ask and I get nothing. I have all the proof that I sent it to them. What should be my next move?

You shipped a $140 RMA with no tracking number? Not terribly bright on your part. Delivery confirmation is your friend.

Did the USPS lose your package? Somewhat unlikely. Do you have any way to know for sure? No.

You cannot, however, assume that Woot is "screwing" you - Particularly when you consider the voluntary 2 year warranty extension + the people who have already successfully RMA'd cards. Screwing you accomplishes very little in the grand scheme of things.

Did you buy insurance and delivery confirmation?

Just because you filled out an RMA form does not mean a company is obligated to give you a replacement.

Until they actually receive it they don't owe you a thing, and it's up to you to be able to prove that they did.

Companies used to be more trusting, but there was too much RMA fraud.

Yes I did have a tracking # but for some reason it's not on my recepit. I guess i'll just go to the post office tomorrow to see what they can do.

Also I mean, it's very unlikely that usps lost my package, I just don't know why I haven't gotten my money back yet.

Ive always had good success with Woot and returns. Are these the video cards that were "stolen"?

Well you don't have proof they got it. They can just say neener neener and you're SOL. You don't get anywhere with your CC company either since you can't prove you returned it.

I've shipped things via USPS for warranty work, RMAs, etc, but I always buy the delivery confirmation, tracking, and signature required. Of course, by the time you add all that in, it sometimes makes sense to just use UPS, FedEx or DHL.

If you don't have full tracking on this, you are screwed.

Their customer service has always helped me out when needed. There's no reason they'd intentionally try and screw you - they obviously don't have a record of receiving your shipment.

I think those were MSI boards. Not sure of the chipset though.

They just refunded me: said it came friday.

I sent that badboy out nearly 4 weeks ago. Does USPS take THAT long all the time?

Whine, whine, whine! You did almost everything wrong, and still got your refund. Be content!

No, but their processing and verification that it was indeed DOA probably takes a few weeks. I'm certain you aren't the only return they have to deal with. They can't just read the RMA number and assume that it didn't work when they sent it to you. Do you know how many people would try to send their old crap in after keeping a card that they might have broken? Do you know how many people try to OC cards immediately and toast them? Their intrest is in making sure that they truly sent out a bad card and that you aren't trying to pass your f'up onto them.

If woot is CA based like most sites, then Ohio to Cali can take a full business week in itself.

Delivery confirmation was 60 cents extra you cheap ass. You learned your lesson for next time.
