Hey,

I've got the fone. I've got free minutes after 9pm. Can I somehow get something to go from the phone to muh lappy (ethernet) I KNOW that there is a serial data cable...but I don't know if it will work like that...

anyhow...if this cable exists...

1. Where do I get it.
2. Have you done it?

the 5165 is not capable of using the phone as a modem. Some nextel phones and some GSM phones are, however, capable of doing this.

(wireless speeds generally limited to 14.4K with TDMA phones)

You'll end up wasting more airtime waiting for a page to load than if you just found a decent spot to dock a laptop.

THanks in AdvanCE! :D

My employer has several of these particular PC cards, and they work fine with the 5165. A little on the slow side, though. Usually around 9600bps.

Any decent GSM provider should offer the 2.5g services like GPRS (Always on Net access) and HSCSD which will give 33.6k download speed. Both the latter are Phone dependent too. My Nokia 6310i has them, along with bluetooth and IR.
