I just installed winXP professional, and I notice my windows directory is about a gigabyte in size. Compared to win98 which only took 250-300megs, I'm wondering if theres anything I can trim/delete/uninstall/get rid of to cut the size down? I don't particularly care about all of the visual features, or tutorials/help, or user-friendly stuff, just need a working stable OS. What and how can I safely delete/remove things?

Look out for a program tht will probably be called XPLite. It is developed by thae same people who brought out WIN98Lite, and it allows you to uninstall many of the features of XP.

Look Here ------> www.98lite.net

I'm not sure when this is going to be avaliable, but I would think that this is you best bet

Today, it is a lot cheaper to buy a bigger hard drive than to write tight code. Even with a 40 GBdrive, it is a non-issue.
