is Windows XP Professional more stable than Windows XP Home?

I have a computer that I want to use as a business machine. Does it really matter which version of Windows XP I use? I prefer XP Pro because of little things, but is there a stability difference? I'm using a Dell right now that came with XP Home, which I upgraded to XP Pro, but I can use the XP Pro on another computer if XP Home offers the same stability.

Performance wise, there should be absolutely no difference between the two. XP Professional offers a few extra features, such as security and the ability to connect to a domain network. Stability wise, they are both built on the same core features, and the program modelling of the two is effectively equal. There should be no difference whatsoever. Basically, just choose between the two depending on the extra features.

They are the same codebase with minor changes, mostly just things disabled in the Home edition to make you pay more for Pro if you want/need them.

Before service packs, Home was definitely less stable than Pro. Nowadays they are fairly close, but I still would use Pro.

i thought networking and security were more robust in XP Pro. these are essential elements for a typical nusiness application/setting

That makes no sense.

There are certainly more networking and security features in XP Pro, but those features to enhance the stability of the operating system.

It may not make sense, but it is what I have observed.

SP2 for home is 70mb, for Pro 100 mb, that is alot of difference for something that they just disabled a few features.

Besides my experiences, I've read three articles in the past month, that the authors said Pro is slightly more stable in their minds, even now.
