XP was just released to the OEMs last friday. IE6 is finally out of beta and available for download pretty much anywhere. You guys are right about XP being released to the consumer in October, but for those industrious/hacker types, XP is floating around on IRC if you want to grab it.

Microsoft altered some code in IE 6 for "security" reasons, and one of the consequences of the code change was that QuickTime no longer worked in IE. Apple has supposedly fixed the problem since then and released an update on their website. Story
Okay, I had to uninstall IE6. I couldn't pay my friggin' Citibank bill on-line using their AccountOnline service because the drop down menus were screwy in IE6. Bleh, I'll stick with what works.
