Is Windows Update messed up?

It keeps telling me I need to install the same critical update. I install it, reboot, go back to Windows Update and it tells me I have to install a critical update again. Anyone else having this problem?
 
Yes, recently it has told me to install a printer and mouse driver again even though they were just installed about a week ago. Who knows?
 
It keeps talling me to install Dell keyboard drivers and Dell USB port drivers... I don't have a dell, especially confused since its a non-intel system.
 
After rebuilding and reinstalling XP from a fresh reinstall of Windows 2000 first then immediately upgrading to XP, these problems stopped and I can access Windows Update with no problem.

I also don't receive the same message for the same update as well.
