is windows update looping for anyone else?

works fine here. Assuming you reboot after installing...it sounds like your system is reverting to the last good config/restore point automatically on bootup. check the event viewer and see if it reports any errors.

hrm. ended up being an update that updates mdac. I installed the latest mdac manually (2.8) and it works fine... blech. windows. :barf;

No probem here. I just installed the latest critical update on three machines and it went smoothly.

I've had some success in the past with the Windows Update Troubleshooter.
