i noticed that they advertise wimax on the laptops in bb, and i looked in a brochure that said it is in most of the laptops bb sells. is that a feature on the newest intel laptop chipsets or something? it said that prices are as low as $45 a month for unlimited? is anyone getting that?

It's really meaningless unless you live in one of the few big cities that have it. Much of thhe country still doesn't have decent 3G!

do you know whether all the new intel based laptops have wimax built into them. i live in the bay area and we dont have wimax other than sprint but best buy around here advertises wimax on all the laptops

Only a small number of laptops have WiMax built in. Specifically those using the 6150 and 6250 Intel wireless controllers. Many (if not most) Intel laptops do not use these specific controllers.

are any of you guys actually using wimax on a laptops? anyone? what company offers wimax service and where? anyone laptop wimaxing in the bay area?

The only major WiMax provider in the US is Clear. They offer service in most cities, but YMMV due to the fact that their network is oversubscribed.
