Is Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory really laced with drug nuances?

the first one had a drink that would make you fly, i'm assuming the new one is a lil more pronounced about the drugs.

I already googled and it didn't pull anything up... I never asked anyone to suggest a search engine.

Let's see, man living by himself in a "Chocolate Factory" surrounded by little men slaves called "Oompa-Loompas" making candy that shrinks you, makes you float, and other crazy stuff.

Somebody had to be on drugs.

the ultimate drug metaphor is the Scooby Snack. consider:

1) they always get the munchies after eating a snack
2) they always see ghosts and apparitions after eating a snack
3) they loose motor control after eating a snack

If you want to know more about the work, learn about the man that created it:

http://www.roalddahl.com/

The movie was made in the drug crazed 60s era (1971). Of COURSE it was like an acid trip. Everything pop culture back then was.

Heh, have you seen the cover of the new movie? Do you think Johny Depp looks like he's NOT on drugs?

There are two types of drug related movies. Movies made for people on drugs and movies made by people on drugs.

I think WW&TCF falls into category 2 not 1, if anything.

...

Then there's the stuff created by people on drugs for people on drugs, such as:
The Cremaster Cycle

The whole tunnel scene is supposed to be an acid trip, isn't it?

Any movie with Johny Depp = need to be on drugs to make you think it was good. :p

Way to remake another child hood movie in order to crap on it for future viewers. :D

Hell in the movie they said something about being baked.
I never really realised that Shaggy is a stoner until the movie.

It's about chocolate. Nothing more, nothing less.
