Is Wii worth getting if all I really want for now is Zelda: TP?

Gamestop is running this promotion that if I trade in a complete gc, i can get 50 dollar cvredit toward the store. I am somewhat interested into getting a Wii, but on other hand, the only game that interested me for now is Zelda and Trauma Center and maybe virtual Console. And I already have a GC at home and GC version of Wii will be out at December instead of november. What should I do? Trade in a GC toward a Wii or keep GC and get zelda for gc and get Wii later on.

Trade in the GC for Wii, keep the games, and wait for some better games to come out.

I was sorta in the same situation. I wanted to play the new Zelda and had to decide Wii now or just buy a cheap GC and Zelda. Well I decided to go with a GC because I found one for $40 with everything I need and all I need to do now is wait for Zelda. I will have only $100 in it after buying the game. It really depends if you want to sink $200+(after swapping yours) in it just to mainly play Zelda. I didn't want to sink $300+ into a system mostly for Zelda. Not to mention a don't like buying launch consoles because they are pron to having bugs issues.

I say do the trade in if you have the funds but personally buying high dollar console mainly for one game IMO ain't a good choice. Unless of course you make lots of money.

Although I would have liked to play the new Zelda with the Wii controls. But owell by the time I buy a Wii I will be ready to play it again.

Not really. But on the other hand I wouldn't count on the price coming down in the near future. Maybe they'll sell it without Wii Sports, but I don't think they'd drop the price $50 like some people are hoping. Wii Sports is not a $50 game.

Stop me if I'm wrong, but the Wii is supposed to play GC games, correct? And secondly, didn't Nintendo pull the GC version Zelda:TP, keeping it as a Wii exclusive title?

I've also been debating whether or not to get a Wii when I really want is Zelda, but its also got access to the Resident Evil titles and such. Unfortunately, my TV is smaller than my 2005FPW. I could hook the Wii up to my LCD though, it'd just be a little awkward on the desk.

I've been half heartedly looking at 30in WS HD LCD TVs though, bit too expensive for my blood unfornunately.

Nope, GC version of Zelda is still on track. but it is suppose to be release in December instead of the wii's november.

The main problem with me is I already have a GC, and i am debating with myself is it a good chocie to trade it in for 50 dollar. One one hand, this is probably the last chance i can get 50 dollars off a gamecube. But on other hand, all I need to do si pay 50 dollar and i can enjoy Zelda instead of ditching out 250 dollars in addition of the 50 dollar trade in for a wii and zelda.

Now let be honest with ourself, the only good launch titles atm for non-console FPS and non-sport fan are Zelda and Trauma Center(which is an awosoem game on DS). Virtual Console look interesting, but the launch ttile for ti is a bit lackign as well sicne I already have the Zelda Master Disk edition, so no need for me to download OOT for virtual console.

You can trade in your GameCube to EBGames or Gamestop for $50 until November 5th!

I'd still trade in the GC for a Wii, since it can play the GC titles. You aren't really losing anything, cept a console in the short term.

not unless you just have it to blow. No it isn't worth it IMO anyway.

Well, i just come back from game stop for ffxii and it turn out that they stopped the pre-order for TP a bit ago. This complicate thing a bit. It is rumored that nintendo is only mading as many TP for gc as pre-order for now. Thus there is some chance that one will not able to get TP for gc.

I'm in the same dilemma.

I want to buy a Wii, but really, it's only for Zelda. I don't think I will though, because I have a GC, and even then I only own it because of The Wind Waker. I also bought MGS:TS and RE4, but only because I felt guilty for buying GC for one game.

I think I'll get one more last little usage outta the GC with Twilight Princess.

Well I don't have a widescreen TV so it doesn't help me any. As for not being able to find Zelda that won't be a problem I don't think. I bet you could walk into some other place(Wal-Mart comes to mind) and get it. I think pre-orders for games are almost pointless.

I also just read that Game Cube version fo the game will look exactly like the wii version beside the wiimote thing. I also find ti surpsing they stopped the pre-order for both GC and wii version of the Zelda. any take on that?

Quick question:

This Gamestop trade in lasts till the 5th?

Can I trade in my GC, but not put the $50 toward a Wii, but just have credit?

Ya, just got back.

They were basically out of preorders for everything. Might use it to get Red Steel, depending on how much I like the Wii.

The thing that is stopping em from gettign a wii is the controller design, I don;t particularlly feel like swing ym controller around like an idiot. And Zelda is the only game i am ionterested in wii atm. So i might keep gc and get tp for gc sicne on the interview both version of the game is suppose to look the same

Look at some of the trailers at gametrailers.com. It shows people actually playing TP and using th controller at the same time.

I am in the same dilema. I have no idea where the Wii will go from Zelda on. But you can basically count on another Zelda on it, because Nintendo usually releases 2 on each system.

BTW, I only got $45 for my GC. Not much difference, but thought I would post it.

http://wii.ign.com/articles/744/744044p1.html

My God...this article...just makes me cringe in pain due to my excitement...

"f Wii Sports is for the non-gamers, Twilight Princess is for the hardcore. After I spent 10 hours with the game, I barely managed to squeak by two temples, with the third so far off that I could scarcely imagine getting there, let alone approach the objective. (For the record, out of 30 or so journalists, nobody came close to the third temple.) I asked how long it took Nintendo's testers to complete the entire game the first time through. The answer is a whopping 70-plus hours. Adding insult to injury, diabolical Nintendo translator and localization manager Bill Trinen told me that he was working on his second play-through of the game. Knowing what to do and where to go, and skipping cut-scenes, Trinen said that he had logged about 27 hours to make it about two thirds of the way through the temples themselves - and that doesn't account for any of the side quests or time sucks like fishing, a single operation that could easily add hours upon hours to Zelda's depth. ."

Oh...My...God...

I shall bow down to my Wii once I get it...:D
