Is Web Application Developer a dead end job?

I just graduated and worked for a while but I can't see the light at the end of tunnel, the pay is not good (I'm in a big company) and it just seem that you are stuck with the same thing for the rest of your life and it's hard to get into lead position, any thoughts?

It's an exciting field to be in. It's constantly changing and there are always new things to learn. Maybe the projects you are on are just boring, but web dev in general is exciting if you ask me.

You're in the wrong country. Move to India.

imo, it is a good stepping stone to either consulting later in your career when you've become a guru OR management.

I would rather do consulting, you would need a lot of contacts though.

Yes, I am in an almost identical position. We are now becoming project managers and outsourcing to india =(

Move into an engineering position if at all possible - I just applied for a bluetooth developer position internally.
