Is WAR solo friendly?

I don't like grouping and solo almost completely. Still not sure I'll get it because the pet class is a weird looking elf.

yeah, it seems very much so. I always play solo, so it's tough for me to get in any other MMO other then WoW at its early stages, but eventually you bottom out by yourself.

this game seems like you can EASILY go the distance by yourself and have fun.

PvE wise, yeah. If you want to actually PvP then no, you might as well look somewhere else honestly. You'll be able to do smaller scale RvR/PvP things solo, like scenarios but you will get frustrated quickly doing much of anything else. The game is made for group/large scale fighting.

And this has to do with what he asked? We get it from the other WAR thread you don't like the game. No one is talking in the general chat cause, maybe, just maybe it is because it is the open beta and people are figuring stuff out?

I said it feels like a SINGLE PLAYER game, meaning that I am doing everything SOLO. I just added the part about chat to emphasize it.

I don't even see people near me talking. Hell, I've "shouted" questions during a PQ with tons of people next to me and no one responded. No one even talked during the PQs. I looted a blue Swordmaster belt and it took me 3 tries to GIVE IT AWAY because people wouldn't respond to my shouts, my whispers, or even trade requests.

I don't want barren chat, but I do want some chat, to know that I'm not the only one in the game. A big part of the draw to MMOs is the MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER PART - the community.

You're basing everything off of, your limited time in an open beta/preview weekend.

A lot, and I mean a lot, are even paying attention to chat cause they are too busy playing and figuring stuff out. Hell plenty I have come a crossed and helped I had to tell them how to either do a reply or speak in chat outside of say.

I've found in OB people simply just don't give a shit about anything other then playing and messing around cause everything is wiped. In CB it is/was a lot different.

MMO's are like info overload when you first jump in, and when whatever you do has no effect cause it is OB people tend to not give a crap and are just trying to absorb most stuff.

You just seem to think that the way are acting and/or doing right now is how it will be when it is live. I know OB is your only experience with the game, but believe me things are a lot different when the people actually know somewhat what is going on.

Sorry to come off bashing you, I just never seen a positive post from you on a game yet that I can recall.

Wait till it comes out? Only thing beta's are good for for gamers is to see if they are into the game. The core game and such is going to be the same, generally.

When a game goes into OB, especially MMO's you can't base much of an opinion on anything other then how the game plays itself. You're knocking it cause people weren't talking or interacting with you. Like I said before in my other post, people don't give a shit about anything other then their desires to try stuff out when it comes to an OB in an MMO, more so with an beta that doesn't let every person on the net just download the client and jump in. The people in the beta, for the most part have an actual interest in the game.

I've seen the pattern a lot and that is the normal way things just go.
 
No barren chat? What's the point of MMO if people don't talk? I loved barren chat back when I played WoW.

Yes, it is. I've played the beta almost totally solo and its still really easy to level. Whenever I get to a PQ I'll usually get a group just for the PQ then leave when I move on. Even in the 30's I soloed a few levels (playing as white lion) and it still wasn't that bad. Anyway White Lions look cool when they're decked out in their armor (at least I think so), but if that's not your thing they do have squig herders which are similar to white lions but ranged instead of melee.

greenskins have a pet class - squig herder. wasn't there also another mage type class that could summon pets?
 
Yeah but the daemons he summons are immobile, they're confined to the summoning circle which seems like its just one spot. From what I've seen they're kind of like the engineers turrets, they're just immobile shooters.
 
In an earlier stage of the beta I was able to get to level 22 mostly soloing. A few quests I grouped up on, but only because there was another person in the area with me doing the same quest, and it made more sense to group up than to solo and wait.

Yeah, the squig herder is kinda like a ranged version of the white lion which is a cool variation imo. they do this with the shadow warrior and marauder too which is nice to add some variation.
