Is VW's drivetrain warranty transferable?

I'm looking into buying a '00 Passat Wagon w/ 35k miles on it. Factory warranty was only 2yr/24k miles on BtB, but original drivetrain was 10/yr, 100k miles. I know I'm out of BtB, but I was wondering if the drivetrain warranty still applies. Also, if it does, what all is included in the drivetrain? All engine and tranmission related things?

Yes the drivetrain warranty applies to you.

I own an 01 VW Passat and I know it does.

Does anyone know if you can get refunded on the extended warranty before it starts?

i'm not 100% but I do believe that it will not transfer.. it is good for the original owner only.
