Is Voodoo 5 compatible with Shockwave/Flash?

HI!
I hope someone out there can help me. I am having a problem when surfing the web. Any time I come to a site that is running a "Flash" program or a "Shockwave" game my computer either crashes or completely freezes up. The same thing happens when playing on the "Shockwave Machine". I have e-mailed Macromedia and Shockwave about this problem but I have yet to get a response.
A friend told me that the problem might be that I have a firewall running at the same time, namely "Black Ice Defender". But I don't think thats the case since I have another friend who also has "Black Ice Defender" and A Ge Force 2 and has no probelms.
I have the latest versions of Shockwave/Flash and also the latest(and last) Voodoo 5 Drivers. This probelem has been around even on older Voodoo 5 Drivers. My Computer specs are

Pentium 3 933Mghz
Windows Me
Voodoo 5 5500 AGP
Sound Blaster Live X Gamer 5.1
Viewsonic 17' monitor
256 Meg RAM
Asus CUV4X Motherboard

I really hope you can help me. My son wants to check out the children sites but most of them are running Flash and Shockwave programs.

Thanks in advance

it has nothing to do with your video card. either an IE problem (i'm guessing you use IE) or an IE plugin (shockwave/flash) problem. reinstall IE or the plugins.
