Talking about duration of warranty, yes.
Talking about build quality, probably not much different than any other brand.

so do you recommend it for me ? i'm afraid to buy a card and when the card arrives it's like buged, and i'm not going to be able to change it, as i live in Brazil and some one is going to buy it for me in the USA and bring it here.

By the way, can i trust the dell.com store ?

Well you take a risk of anything you buy being DOA. The warranty is lifetime, but I it only covers the original purchaser. So that would mean no warranty coverage for you.

EDIT dell.com is a major pc retailer

While the others have the chipset manufacturer from ATI GeCube has from Ageia. Strange ?

VisionTek is the ONLY ati-based graphics-card manufacturer with a lifetime warranty. all the others only offer 1 year. it costs the same as the others. 'nuff said.

Visiontek has been making video cards for years. I had a Visiontek Xtasy 6564 (GeForce3 Ti 200) that was an amazing overclocker. Great company.

Thus its the only ATI vendor i would consider buying cards from. I really liked my old powercolor 9800 Pro, so i might consider them if the price was right, but nothing else from amd/ati partners.

yeah, if I wasn't so impatient I would have gotten a VT. I just couldn't believe that 3870 was only 225...my HIS has been fine thus far, hopefully I won't regret purchasing it later.

I wouldn't buy anything from Visiontek. They do not honor their lifetime warranty on older cards. My ti4600 died a couple years back, after Visiontek went bankrupt, and taken over by another company. They refuse to honor it. No customer loyalty.

"We are sorry but the warranty on the Nvidia based cards is no longer valid. The company, Visiontek Inc, who manufactured and provided the warranty, went bankrupt 3 years ago. All of their warranties and liabilities were absolved within the bankruptcy. Our company only purchased the rights to the name Visiontek to produce ATI based cards.

Thank you,

Visiontek Tech Support"

...Yeah, thanks a lot.

That's business. Nothing personal....

Acutally, that's the law.
