Is Verizon's Mobile Web 2.0 for $5/month worth it?

Switching from crap mobile to Verizon and note that for $5 I can get access to their mobile web, seemingly without any usage limits (this is not VCast--it's their mobile web 2.0). I'm getting a fairly pimp phone with qwerty keyboard (LG enV) and like the idea of visiting some sites, particularly hotmail, so how does hotmail work through this? Is it similar to the hotmail plugin on igoogle? Also, do sites like CNN and the mobile theonion work well?

VZW with MSN has a link to hotmail, hotmail works well, don't know anything about igoogle plugin tho.

Unless you have the vcast plan, the mobile web uses your airtime minutes, so keep that in mind.

check howardforums, there's a bunch of free proxies you can use....still uses minutes but that's the only charge and nights/weekends are free.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up. So essentially it's unusable outside of weekends/evenings without vcast, since a person can suck up minutes real damn quick with an app open.

Yeah, I didn't know they would still charge you without VCast though...that stinks.

BTW, seeing that the 10000 (enV is 9900) coming out in two months, but I suppose that may be part of the reason why I got this env for $30 after rebates from Amazon. I've seen it for free on some sites, but Amazon required only a $50 mail in rebate instead of paying $500k up front and mail in rebates for the rest.
