Is verizon running a special that I am not aware about for the iPad 2?

I was looking all over for an iPad 2 yesterday. As always I decided I wanted to get something in high demand the day after release. Well I called all over and could not find one for sale, no surprise. Finally I decided to call the Verizon store and see if they had any. They didn't have them immediatly in stock, but could order them from their "warehouse" overnight and I would get it next Tuesday.

So I went in and ordered the 64GB one. They then told me that they were giving me a free screen protector, car charger, and case. I asked about the case and they showed me the original iPad with some cheap looking leather case, but told me that the case I would be getting for the iPad 2 was a $70 case. I came home and checked all the stuff they had on my receipt with the accessories on their website and it turns out that the $70 case is the black leather smart cover! So for the price of the iPad 2 I get $120 in accessories for free! Wow!

Are they not advertising this promotion? I would have never know had I not called them.

Damn. Good deal.

I'm loving the smart cover. It doubles as a very solid stand, and it makes unlocking and holding the device that much easier.

There is no differende between leather and e other poly-whichever material, though. Leather is thicker, heavier, and more rigid if anything.

Hmmm, just called a corporate store, they're willing to throw in some stuff, but no iPads till Thursday.

I'm likely going to get an ATT version because I have unlimited data from my first gen plan...
