Is it worth it for me to go through all of the trouble to try and figure out how to make a VCD and convert Divx to mpeg or whatever? Not to mention, I've heard that VCD quality is pretty crappy anyways. What do all of you think? Do you watch VCD's or make your own? Should I even bother with it?

I back up my DVD's onto VCD's so I can bring them on the plane with me when I travel without having to worry about losing a bunch of $25 DVDs...

VCD quality is decent enough...equal to VHS in most respects...Check out vcdhelp.com for more info

SVCDs are near DVD quality and I have backups of all my DVD's on SVCD'd. Really is a lifesaver for travel. If they ever solve the DD 5.1 sound SVCD's would be perfect
