Is USPS 'tracking' worthless?

Because it certainly appears to be. My order was shipped on the 29th, yet for every day after that USPS says my tracking number does not exist.

Yes, but it proves that the person received it... Sooo, I guess it's worth the extra money.

it's not tracking.

it's just delivery confirmation.

btw, if you use Priority Mail (maybe Express too), you can get free delivery confirmation on USPS.com

Ah, I see. A bit misleading for them to call it a tracking number, though. Perhaps "confirmation number" would be a bit clearer.

Oh well. Thanks!

That is only if you print the label yourself.

Express mail automatically provides you with a tracking number and $500 insurance.

It's even more worthless when you try to ask the CSR where your package is and they have about as much information on their screen as you do on yours.
