I think it is. Using a sexual act to describe your opponent just shows low class. And not only that, the teabagger is the one teabagging the democrats (the teabagee) so it's almost a compliment.

There's been a radio commercial running that makes mention of "the tea party rebuplicans" and then says "what will happen if these teabaggers gain control?" I was pretty shocked that a political ad was using teabagger, pretty low class. It's being run by some PAC, I can't remember which one but it starts off with a crowd cheering and a female saying "Get government off our backs, we're here to take our country back". I'll see if I can find it.

I didn't get the memo - is this blog.spidey07.anandtech.com?

I don't find this offensive in any event. The sexual connotation of "teabag" is one that is unknown to the overwhelming majority of people who use that term to refer to Tea Party folk, most likely including the people who created that ad.

Tea Bagger is fine... don't dare call a gay man queer though, you might lose the fudge-packer vote.

People of the tea party used it first so now it’s off hands now they have been educated about their stupidity?

Tea Baggers originally referred to themselves as such because they carried tea bags... that was until they were told of the other definition of being a tea bagger.

I don't recognize the name change to tea party and will always call them by their first selected name, tea baggers. It's a way of emphasizing how clueless they are.

The real Boston Tea Party was a bold and courageous step in our country's history. The teabaggers are pathetic, inconsistent whiners. Huge difference.

BTW - As originally conceived/promoted, the TEA stands for "Taxed Enough Already"

I agree. The Tea Party was a group of strong democrats that wanted to end taxation without representation.

The Tea Baggers want to end taxation WITH representation and return the glory days of the cavemen.

We need an "irony" smiley; I'd plaster it all over this post from the constant user of the "teabagtag"...

Maybe the tea baggers should have been a little smarter when they thought up their nickname. Maybe you should have gone with Santorums.
