is usb to dvd the way to go?!

im trying to set up a video editing station im my room . i want to run it off the computer and i was wondering if this usb to dvd bundle is the way to go. Does it also alow u to send the video back out.

I would suggest internal card, or if you want external ones make sure you get USB 2.0 or even better, firewire. Unless this USB capture device has excellent compresion or hardware mpeg2 encoding, USB will not have enough bandwidth to handle the datarate.
