Is USB 1.1 fast enough for a external DVD-ROM?

in theory, yes. 1x dvd = 1250kb/s, usb 1.1 = 1500kb/s.

if the dvd is massless, the drive motor is frictionless, the usb cable's resistance is zero, and you are using the drive outside of earths gravitational field... itll work fine =)

USB1.1 is 12Mb/s
