No, I'm not arguing to argue. I'm simply saying a Master's Degree from Troy State is a valid degree and the school is about mid-range for this area of the country.

Well I'm not arguing about that. I'm saying that Troy St. is not a highly regarded school at the national level

You can cry about how it's highly regarded in 'this area of the country' if you're referring to your backyard.

That means absolutely nothing. Again, it is a 2nd tier school in a ranking of southern only non-doctoral schools.

Overall, it's not highly regarded.

NO! There is NO ranking given to Troy State as far as non-doctoral schools is given. The only ranking assigned to Troy State is the second tier one. I just did a free trial of the premium edition using an old version of US News paper edition that I had. It is a second tier school for Southern Master's schools. That's the ONLY ranking given to it. The main campus is only about 4500 students and it isn't guilded in history, so it is only ranked with other Master's schools.

I think it's about time you get a refund on your criminal justice 'education'.

I didn't say what number it is ranked. You just said what I've been saying the entire time - Troy State is a 2nd tier school in rankings of Southern Only non-doctoral schools. That is not well regarded, unless you have low standards.

IT IS NOT IN THE GODDAMNED NON-DOCTORAL SCHOOL RANKING. Get that thru your thick skull. They are two different type of rankings. It's in the Masters by region pool, and that is the ONLY ranking it is assigned.

Wow, you really are an idiot. Non-doctoral = no PhD offered. If it offers an MS but no PhD, then it's in the MS category (non-doctoral)

You're right. Now it is my turn to admit my error and say I kept reading Non-doctoral as doctoral on their page. Sorry about that.

Generally, people call these schools (masters only and bachelor's only) non-doctoral schools. I know you're a criminal justice major, but jeez...

Aww, I was trying to keep up with being triple teamed and I mis-stated something. No way both of you asshats did that earlier by calling TSU 4th tier did you now?

I skimmed through the thread again and I don't see where anyone said the degree is not valid. All that's been said is that the school does not have the best reputation/rank.

And I posted information that said it was awarded for being a "hidden" jewel, and that more people should start to recognize it. As long as people act like RabidMongoose, and CanoWorms, then it won't be recognized. Plus, it does have national exposure and national recognition, but that doesn't mean everyone has heard of it. I seriously doubt everyone has heard of Gonzaga, but they are a Tier 1 Master's School from out West. What about Samford here in Birmingham? Tier 1 in Southern Master's

Thanks for saying nothing that says that Troy St. is highly regarded.

JustinT asked if TSU is a joke. Not if it was nationally recognized or if it was a Top 50 school trying to usurp Harvard or MIT. It's obviously not a joke if it is in the 2nd tier with plenty of other recognizable Universities and Colleges. You keep accusing me of being on a tangent, but he NEVER ONCE asked if it was nationally recognized. He asked if it was a joke.

I said it was poorly regarded. That's what I've been saying and that's what you've been crying about.

And it's not in the 2nd tier with other recognizable universities, depending on how far you want to go with recognizable. It's 2nd tier in Southern only non-doctor schools. That is not highly regarded.

When you ask people in the same region "What do you think about Troy State?" and the majority of them say "I've never heard of it" It's probably not an academic powerhouse.

Wow, you just don't give up.

You go off on me when I say that it's poorly regarded. Then I show that it's a 2nd tier school in rankings of southern only non-doctoral schools. It probably wouldn't even rank in the top 250 US schools. I'm sure that Troy St. is a nice school to go to for the value and all, but something has to be not highly regarded.

You can back down all you want from what you originally attacked and now say 'it's highly regarded in this one little spot in my backyard', but that still doesn't disprove what I've been saying the entire time.

He asks how it's regarded. It's not very well regarded. Simple answer for a simple question which you won't let go because of your such low standards stemming from your stint as a criminal justice major.

Lets not forget Marshell. And YOU CAN COMPARE IT TO TIER 2 schools in other regions, thats what rankings are for. Its better than you are making it out to be.

And I was right, it isn't "poorly" regarded. Compared to the other 10,000 Universities and colleges in the nation it is middle of the road. Poorly regarded might be East Western Community College for the Nonsensical.

That's quite a list there. I know that when I was growing up everyone talked about how the wanted to go to Carson-Newman
