Is tribes 2 a graphical letdown?

back then when tribes 2 was being previewed, it looked great. but i figured that most of the screen shots were from a 3rd person point of view, i wonder why. well, since this game has been released, i've found out that it doesn't look all THAT great. i was expecting a little bit better, the weapons still don't look that great. so far i've turned on ALL the damned details, and i still can't produce those 3rd person screen shots we've all seen. and i thought i was going to be "wowed."

well i never said the game sucked. i just thought the game would be on a q3a and ut level graphical level.

Since the outdoor levels hurt frame-rate, Dynamix probably reduced the graphic details a bit.

I think it kicks ass graphically wise, now I have a Athlon 1 GHz and a Radeon 64 and I can run at 1024x768 at around 50-70 FPS. also in 32 bit color. You wan tot see crappy graphics, look at UT the level where the earth is visible (cant remember the name), that is some shotty graphics work, This game has to drop the details to let you see as much as you do.
