No, he's just got contacts up the wazoo who give him information he doesn't need to have. Then he loosely bases his a lot of his books on it.

I remember hearing a story about how he was debriefed by the CIA because he listed the (then classified range) of a new weapon in one of his books. They asked him how he knew it, and he had taken the approximate specs from a non-classified Army publication and a non-classified Navy publication and averaged them out.

9/11 was a little odd after reading Debt of Honor, as well.

I think I mixed up my Tom Clancy books. Since they jump around with the timelines of Jack.
