Well, it's of dubious value, since the majority of the tech threads in this forum tend to be ... less than technical. I mean, all they would do in the "right" forums is piss off the oldtimers with n00b questions that should have been searched

Because locking them encourages people to post in the right forum in the first place? Although it's truly a losing battle...
