i looked at that sony but i think it does not have dedicated video ram and draws from the system ram. that will hurt performance

There is no such thing as dedicated GPUs without their own onboard memory.

The Mobility 4650 has 512mb of memory (possibly DDR2 or DDR3). The Sony is a faster system, but is also bigger.
