If you're only going to web browse (Anandtech! :D), check email and play music, the 2100 will do the trick very well. Although Dell is more expensive then what it'd cost to build yourself, the service and support are great. Not only will you get great service, the product quality is very good.

<< dude... you're NOT getting a dell >>

So far I've yet to hear any statements, based on facts, to back up your "Dell is suck" posts.

I recommend Dell to all my family members and friends. I don't want to be their personal Tech Support for life. Much easier to help them config the computer at Dell and then let Dell deal with them.
Haven't had any problems with a Dell computer in the past.

I though so too, until I told my in-law's to get a Dell. Regardless of Dell's tech support, they still call me! I wish I could just tell them to piss off, but I'm sure my wife wouldn't be too thrilled with that...

Tell them Dell has their own parts and the OS is a bit different. Only Dell technicians know how to fix a Dell branded computer.

I hear it works

I've had a Dell for 2 years now and the only problem I've had was my monitor went the other night. Dell had a new monitor to me the next morning and they paid for shipping both ways.
