HP Computer
550 Athalon processor
13 gig HD
64 meg ram
8 x 4 x 32 CDR (Don't know what brand)
15 in monitor (probably HP)
The only thing is...the mother board is fried. I'm thinking of buying it for parts. But is it worth it?

Just the parts are over $200, so probably not a bad deal.

550 Athlon........$50
13gig HDD.........$60
64 RAM............$25
Generic? CD-R....$60
15" HP Moniter....$60

How sure can I be that it will work in my current computer?
Gateway 300 P 2
64 ram
Wanting it for the ram, HD, and a back up burner. If the processor would work, I'd use it too.

No way you can use the CPU, can probably use the other items without too much hassle.....unless your RAM slots are full.

Older Mainboard BIOS may not be able to recognize all of the 13gig HDD. Maybe an update available, maybe not.

Hey dude, here is a crazy guess here. But if it is an HP computer and the CD-RW came with the computer when the dude bought it it is PROBABLY an HP CD-RW.

It's all used. I was considering buying a $100 20 gig HD new when I came across this. I think I'll just spend $130 for a new 7200 rpm 40 gig. Ram is cheap too. It probably wouldn't be worth the hassle to buy it. Especially if I'm not even getting the processor.

"well is the stuff new or used? the prices that are being quoted are new... "

not really....while FS/FT forum prices can be high on some stuff, thats about what you'd get there, am I right?
