Is this working on my linux machine?

After installing Folding@home on two of my Windows machines, I decided to set it up on my linux machine.

Here is what the console looks like. Am I not getting a required update, or am I being impatient?

It looks good to me. These lines tell you a lot:

[02:13:07] Protein: p112_p678_L939_K12M_355K
[02:13:07] - Run: 170 (Clone 1, Gen 4)
[02:13:07] - Frames Completed: 0, Remaining: 400

It is either p1124 or p1125, (this is a known error), worth 241 points.
There are 400 frames.

I see you configured to get BigWUs. I'm not sure how to add a flag with Linux client, but you should add the -advmethods flag if you want to get BigWUs worth double points. It will increase the odds of getting a BigWU.

By now you should see more lines in this log file with a number in (1). When it reaches (400) it will be done.

You are doing GREAT! 🙂

Thanks

You were correct. I just needed to be patient. My linux box is an old Dell G1, 400Mhz Celeron with 256MB RAM. This work unit is going to take over two weeks!

Hey timswim78 🙂

Yeah, it takes pretty long on those old rigs.

It reaches a point where the money you use for electricity to run old PC might be better spent on a new FAST computer.

I figured it would be better to do something useful with it rather than let it collect dust, and I am killing two birds with one stone: 1. Learning Linux 2. Folding

Right now, electricity is free. While the house I just bought is being remodeled, I am living with my parents🙂

My main machine is not a speed demon, but it is OK. Athlon 2800+ and 1024MB of PC2700 RAM. I also have folding running on my machine at work, P4 2.4Ghz with 256MB RAM (wish work would bump up the RAM).
