Is this what it feels like to have no sense of direction?

Backstory:
Started a new job last week
Old job: Get on expressway and head north
New job: Get on expressway and head south

I was thinking about an issue I was trying to resolve at work and autopiloted onto the expressway. As soon as I got on I realized I was heading north. I would have to get off at the next exit and turn around. Great. As I was busy chastising myself I saw my exit sign. WTH?! It was the exit I needed to head to my new job. But that meant I was going south! How can that be when I was heading north?

Turns out my internal autopilot was correct and somehow I got completely turned around. As someone who normally has a very good sense of direction I was completely disoriented and had a hard time getting a new sense of where I was going. I kept questioning where I was going for the next couple of minutes

Not fun.

Cliffs:
Where the eff am I?
Where the eff am I going?

Assuming you didn't move into a new house in a new location, I wouldn't think your autopilot would make you choose the wrong entrance to a highway.

Edit: Derp, nevermind, just realized you were on your way to work, not home...

I have no sense of direction. I rely on other stuff (GPS, compass, landmarks, road signs, whatever) to tell me if I'm going the direction I need to be going.

It sucks.

Go get lost in some campgrounds or mountains sometime. With a decent map. It might help you pick up a thing or two about basic sense of directions.

Well - normally I am very good at that - which I think is why this happening threw me for such a loop
