Is this what I want on my Samsung Memory?

That's what I have on my chips and I hope that means that it's 2.8ns memory...

Thanks if you can say yes...
If you say no, the card goes back!

I've confirmed it, it's that damn 3.3 crap. If this memory doesn't do 350 when I get home, it's going back!!! Damn ASUS!!!

LOL Dumb ASUS using memory rated for that video card.

HAHAHAHA...

How can you not be satisfied with ~340mhz overclock with, I'm guessing, a 9800np card?? Some people....

Well I got about 10 min once I got home to install and run Aquamark real quick with the card set to 527 / 338 and it did okay I guess(32825). I bumped the memory up to 350 real quick, but it had artifacts so I didn't let it finish. I'll have to work with it a little more when I get home from class.

I'd appreciate any suggestions. I'm using radclocker to o/c the card. I did notice that some of the fins on the heatsink are bent on a corner, so I may have to send it back. I'm not sure if it's only cosmetic.

Sounds like a lame excuse to return it to me.

I knew somebody would be sure to point that out, but I think I'm keeping the card.

Never assume, didn't your mom teach you that?

Dude!?! What are you doing?

If I just shelled out a few hundred bucks on a vid card, it damn well better not be damaged or its going back. I wouldn't return it just for the mem though.
9800np is nowhere near a slouch no matter what the memory speed is. 2.8 or 3.3.

In the digilife review the ASUS 9600XT had 2.8ns Samsungs. One wonders how that occurred if the retail models only have 3.3ns Samsungs. May not be a huge issue, (except to overclcokers) but it does kind of stink that when cards show up in reviews with better spec.?s than what the manufacturers intend to sell.

IMO, if you return a perfectly good card based on the memory speed alone you should eat the shipping and any restocking fee. I mean, the card is blazing fast at default speeds and will overclock quite a bit. Maybe not as high as a 2.8ns equipped card but still good. I've got the same card and I can push my memory into the upper 340's without artifacts. I run mine at 398 core and 348 memory. I'm getting "OCZ BGA Ramsinks" for the RAM and a "VGA Silencer" cooler for the GPU from SVC.com. If you're really unhappy with your overclock you should either try better cooling or return it and get a 9800PRO to be sure you get the 2.8ns RAM.

I don't mind keeping the card. It's doing okay as far as the o/c is concerned. I just don't like the fact that the heatsink has the bent fins. If I do return it, I'll exchange it for a like card. If I do put aftermarket cooling on I guess it wouldn't matter too much. I just don't like having a brand new card and it's messed up out of the box. There was no damage to the boxes I got it in, so it had to have happened during manufacturing.
