Is this what boomboxes look like now?

Pretty much dude. Has to look futurisitic because we are in the "future". I like the second one though, nice boxy touch.
 
So GM's Pontiac division is designing boombox now? A lot of Pontiac cars have similar interior pieces, all garish and cheap.

I very highly doubt this assumption. Hmmm... lets see, cheap paper cone with cheap barely-pass-for-a-tweeter-highs powered by 2 watts, or cheap full range arrays of speakers, that's powered by substantially more umph?

Have you even heard how these things sound? Both of them? I know you probably are very used to the sound of that boxy museum quality boombox, but ........
